Workshop 18: Osho Kundalini Meditation

Friday 1630 - 1800

Yatro

One of Osho’s foundational meditations, Kundalini is traditionally done at sunset, with four stages of fifteen minutes each. Set to music, it begins with activity and acts as an energetic shower, softly shaking off tensions and leaving you refreshed and mellow in the final silence.

'Osho meditations have been proven to alleviate stress, promote calm and relaxation and loosen the body.'

This meditation is suitable for new, or experienced meditators.

Yatro became a disciple of Osho in 1978 and has been practising his meditations and leading them on many occasions since, including at the Osho Meditation Resort in Poona, India.  She finds his meditations invaluable in her day-to-day life, and loves to share them with others.

Currently, as well as facilitating meditations in Ashburton and Totnes, she is an Osho Neo-Reiki Master, musician and Bowen practitioner.

Workshop 22: 5 Rhythms dance

Saturday 1130 – 1245

Nina Kitika Alexandra

The 5 RhythmsT are a practice; a moving meditation of listening and following, integrating our physicality, inner awareness, spirituality and feelings. They are a powerful and deceptively simple map for releasing improvised spontaneous movement and dance. This work, also known as The Wave, was developed by Gabrielle Roth over 30 years of teaching experimental dance and theatre in the U.S.A.

We will move through a wave of energy with five modes, or rhythms, of improvised dance. This begins with gentle motion (flowing), gradually increasing the pulse rate (staccato), working up a sweat (chaos), luxuriating in it (lyrical) then coming to a place of positive and conscious relaxation (stillness). There are no steps to learn but each rhythm has a different energetic movement quality. Practice offers the chance to free ourselves from inertia, to shift the habits and attitudes which keep us endlessly stuck in old patterns. To feel our aliveness, discovering ourselves in a practical and non-judgemental way. You are warmly invited to come and move your body, release your mind, free your heart, & sweat your prayers.. oh yeah... and have alot of fun doing it!

Nina Kitika Alexandra is an accredited 5 Rhythms Dance teacher.
She has been a passionate impro dancer since earliest memory recall and has been practicing  Gabrielle Roths 5 Rhythms since 1994. Also an experienced holistic therapist and coach, Nina practices a range of different therapies including, Shamanic Healing, Colour Light Therapy, Clairvoyant & Bereavement Counselling & Integrative massage. She is often called upon as a Celebrant & Facilitator in rights of passage, midwifing birth, coming of age, wedding and death passages, in both personal and group settings.

Jude & Howard

Come in, sit down, make yourself comfortable and get ready to meet the myriad of characters that make up this ‘person’ that you call ‘I’?

Workshop 26: Pelvic Awareness

SUNDAY 1315-1430

Nikhila Ludlow

Each of us carries an internal blueprint or ‘self-image’   As we go through the process of growing up from babies and into adulthood, our experiences are remembered in our body/mind system.  Negative experiences cause us to create blocks, our blueprint remains incomplete.   The pelvic area  frequently holds negative blocks,- it  is home to our sexuality, which is closely associated with our sense of ‘who we are’ or, our identity.  The pelvis plays a vital role in our freedom of movement, particularly  in relation to our legs, hips and back, and also with regard to our sense balance and centredness.

This workshop, offers a bit-sized dip into the world of possibility that opens up when we explore movement of the pelvis gently and with attentiveness, in a safe environment.  Developing body awareness is a powerful tool which provides an interesting and supportive perspective to any other system or practise.   This an opportunity for all – from the experienced tantrika to anyone with lower back/pelvic pain, and if you’re new to the world of tantra  is an opportunity you should not miss.

Nikhila is a registered practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method and has additionally spent years studying and teaching  the meditation techniques of Osho, including Tantra, dance and yoga..  She practices martial arts, has a diploma in Business Studies, was a professional cook,  horse rider, sailor - and for many years a complete nomad – bringing a wealth of life experience to her work.  She is based near Totnes, Devon.

Workshop 28:Reconnecting with Nature

Sunday 1615-1730

Kit Berry

In today’s stressful, materialistic world it’s easy to lose touch with Mother Earth, especially living in a city.  But nature is the best healer, and by connecting with the natural world, the changing seasons and the rhythms of the earth, you see reality through different eyes.  Kit will talk about her personal experiences that led her to reconnect with nature and change the whole course of her life.

Five years ago Kit was an overweight, stressed school teacher, bringing up children alone and struggling with life.  A series of strange events brought her back into contact with nature and she began to write.

Today Kit is fit, healthy and a full-time author. The Stonewylde Series, about a fictional alternative community in Dorset, has inspired many to open their eyes to the world around them and Kit is becoming something of a celebrity.  She’s also a practising pagan, following her own path and always keeping her feet firmly in touch with the earth.
