Didgeridoo playing in Foyer

Ruth Jenni is a percussionist, songwriter, didgeridoo player and mother.   Her didgeridoo style is different from the aboriginal style and is more congruent with being a white British woman playing a British made didgeridoo.  Her presence and energy whilst playing has been described as 'surreal and haunting' and 'absolutely amazing’!

Claire Taylor trained in Fashion at St Martin's School of Art and in Sacred Clowning with Didier Danthois.  Both her performances and clothes designs reflect her passion for self expression and inner beauty and celebrate the divinity and humanness in each one of us. (clairlaluna@hotmail.com)

Kavi Jezzie Hockaday on Guitar

‘Courting the Beloved’

1500 – 1540

This is heart music, music to meditate and relax deeply to.  The words pure, healing and authentic have all been used to describe Kavi’s compositions.  In his own words:

‘I try to express something beautiful through my music. The kind of beauty I am talking about comes from the deepest level and emanates outward; it is a vibration, not a veneer. Music is a two-way process in which the composer and the listener meet. I would like the listeners of my music to be willing to hear it a different way – with the heart, with acceptance ‘

Kavi’s album ‘Unconditional Love’ released this year on New Earth Records will be on sale. (www.myspace.com/kavihockaday & amodakavi@yahoo.co.uk)

Phil Braakenberg

Acupuncture demonstration

1550 – 1620

Probably Indian (Vedic) in origin, the use of acupuncture as a healing therapy spread east to China where it was formalised and integrated into traditional Chinese medicine.

It involves puncturing the skin with fine needles, from depth of about 1mm to several centimetres, at specific points on the body.  The needles can be removed immediately or left for various times, depending on the practitioner and the patient.  Acupuncture can be used to treat many disorders and some claim to be able to induce anaesthesia with its use.

Phil trained as an orthopaedic surgeon and taking various course in acupuncture led him to teach at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital on a visiting basis.  He uses acupuncture daily in his GP’s practice in Torquay and offers a range of services on a private (visiting) basis.

Christoffer de Graal

Presence & Resonance Workshop

1630 – 1715

Join Christoffer on a shamanic journey incorporating sound, movement and imagery that will become an experiential enquiry into what's arising in your life right now.  All are welcome, and you definitely don't need to be a dancer or a musician. We will create a safe held space and will be using the body, the voice and a wonderful variety of musical instruments to stir, provoke, and arouse all that we want to be.

Max Mezzowave Live

1915 – 2000

‘Every once a while an utterly brilliant album comes along that defies categories and surprises you at every turn.  The Hub by UK artist Max Mezzowave is that kind of album.  It beckons and gently embraces you while slowly twisting your head inside out every time you hear it.  There’s long, colourful passages of instrumental ambient sound and rich synthetic chords, but with no obvious roots in anything that’s come before’  Chill Out @ In The Mix by Mikey G

David has been practising as a healer for over 20 years teaching people to develop their healing skills with The National Federation of Spiritual Healers and The Community Healing Project which he founded in 1998. Miriam Kisters, Singer

‘Same, Same but Different’

A central element in Miriam’s approach to voice work is Dhrupad, which is the most ancient genre of North Indian classical singing still being performed.  The combination of Western and Indian techniques proves most useful when it comes to strengthening the natural voice. The Indian way of call and response makes learning very accessible.

Miriam helps people to access and strengthen their own natural voice to reveal confidence and release tension.  For more information on Miriam’s classes at VoiceWorks: Miriam_kisters@yahoo.de

1715 - 1800

At the end of the day, supported by the wonderful sounds of Blessing Bells, Viola and other magical instruments, take a moment to remember and gather the experiences that have touched you at this festival: meetings, synchronicities, inspirations, heart openings.  It will be space to share all those rich experiences and give gratitude and appreciation to ourselves and to the unseen ones.
